Matt is a native of Charleston, SC and grew up with sand between his toes. He is married to Jennifer, and they are both graduates of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (the only sermons Jen writes for Matt are the good ones). They have two precious children, Emma and Noah. Matt has been in the ministry since he was eighteen and the Pastor of the First Baptist Church since August of ‘06. His hobbies are working out at a local fitness club, eating, football, politics, and spending time with family and friends. Matt is also an assistant coach with the Lebanon High School football team. If Matt were not a pastor he would want to be either the chaplain for the Pittsburgh Steelers or the speechwriter for GW.
Brett grew up in a suburb of Kansas City called Blue Springs, where his father and mother still live. His sister and brother-in-law, Holly and Matt Sprink, have a 3-year old daughter named Lucy. Brett went to Southwest Baptist University for his degree and received his masters from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. In his free time, he likes to play and watch basically any sport except wrestling (he’s scared of the singlets). He gets his heart broken regularly by the Royals. Besides sports, Brett enjoys playing piano in his down time. Brett has been with us since the summer of 2005 and has enjoyed working with and serving the students at First Baptist.
